The PFC Promise –Our Mission Statement–

Our Physicians:
Five Board Certified Reproductive Endocrinologists
A highly respected team of senior physicians with extensive clinical experience and outstanding academic credentials guides PFC. All of our doctors are board certified in both Obstetrics and Gynecology and in the subspecialty of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility by The American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Every one of our physicians has held positions as Directors and/or Professors on the faculty of leading research universities. They have actively participates in clinical research to advance the safety, success, and affordability of infertility treatments. As a group, our physicians have been performing IVF procedures longer than any other program in the Bay Area. Our team of doctors was selected as "Best Doctors in the Bay Area" in the January 2005 issue of San Francisco Magazine and "Top Doctors" in the Consumers' Checkbook 2009 by fellow physicians who identified them as the trusted experts in their specialty of infertility. All five have been selected as nationwide Best Doctors for the last four years, the results of surveys by peer physicians. This team of experts is complimented by our internationally known Board Certified High-Complexity Clinical Laboratory Director. Together they are constantly searching for new ways to improve your fertility care.
Your care plan is individualized
We carefully advise our patients of all the appropriate medical options and the subsequent probability of success. The selection of a treatment protocol depends on each individual's medical history and condition. In addition, many nonmedical considerations can influence the selection of a treatment plan. To help you discover which plan best meets your needs, physicians and staff members explain the physical, emotional and financial implications of each approach.
We are open on weekends and on call 24/7
We acknowledge that fertility treatment is very time consuming. Monday through Friday, we offer monitoring appointments starting at 7 am and offer some evening consultation appointments as well. Fertility care may involve weekend procedures or office visits. We schedule certain appointments for our patients both on Saturdays and Sundays. PFC patients can count on excellent physician accessibility and the feeling of security it engenders. Our doctors are responsive to patients' needs and concerns. A physician can be reached 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
We personally support our patients
PFC understands the importance of a personal relationship between patient and physician. Our physicians follow their patients throughout their treatment plans. Unlike many fertility clinics, our physicians perform all ultrasounds, inseminations and, of course, egg retreivals and embryo transfers. Once you have chosen your physician, every effort is made for you to see him or her whenever possible. However, if that is not possible for every visit, your physician also works in partnership with our other physicians to follow your care during monitoring visits. This scheduling process allows your physician to be available to you for consults and procedure appointments. In addition to maintaining this personal approach to care, we continually strive to facilitate your journey through treatment by minimizing your physical discomforts, dealing with your emotional concerns, and decreasing the disruptive effect your care may have on your life.
Our Laboratory and How we avoid mix-ups in the IVF laboratory
All ovum retrievals and embryo transfers take place in our private center in San Francisco. Our qualified embryologists handle the eggs, sperm and embryos in our state-of-the-art laboratory. Our laboratory has repeatedly received the coveted "perfect score" certification from the College of American Pathologists-American Society for Reproductive Medicine (CAP-ASRM). Our secure methods of handling eggs, sperm and embryos are unusually meticulous. Our laboratory protocol calls for two of our eight board certified embryologists to be present at all critical steps to avoid any potential errors. To date, PFC has never had a single incident of sperm, egg, or embryo misidentification. Our patients can have peace of mind knowing medical procedures at PFC are the safest possible. Our internationally known laboratory director and his entire team are board certified in their specialty areas, making them one of the most highly qualified teams in the country.
We are here to help you realize your dream of building a healthy family!
